Cotton prices stable in China, import comes cheaper
Cotton prices for long-staple were largely stable today in China, seeing discounts available in firm deals. In Shandong, self-lifting prices for grade-137 and grade-237 cotton were at 21.70-21.90 Yuan a kg and 20.80-21.00 Yuan a kg, respectively.
The auction of state-reserved cotton slowed down given the plunge in cotton futures, which in turn led to lower prices for cotton spot.
