Blended yarn prices firm up on cost support

In the week ended 3 March, blended yarn markets were benefiting from volatile cotton markets where prices are hating to step down. In China, yarn prices begun rebounding on the import market, which had earlier declined, particularly from India and Vietnam. Spinners are likely to take advantage of the new rise in import prices, if confirmed in coming days. PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rolled over in Qianqing at US$2.56 a kg while 45s PC combed yarn prices were up at US$3.38 a kg.

In Pakistan, more mills have started producing PV yarns, implying that polyester use will continue rising. Operating rates are already relatively high at PC yarn producing plants. PC and PV yarn prices meanwhile continued to rise slightly for specific counts. In Faisalabad, PC yarn
